To those who have taken the Performance Based Exam recently:

1. After completing the Performance Based Questions, when you are working on the multiple choice questions, is the project LAB window on the right side still available or is it completely locked out for the Multiple Choice Questions portion of exam? I paid for and completed  the Practice Exam from PearsonVue but unfortunately I had to use my own Enterprise Guide user interface to complete the LAB projects.  So I don't know what to expect at the real exam.

2. I plan to use the Enterprise Guide User interface. Does it have all the functionality of the regular Desktop Installed version or is it a stripped-down Version of EG? More specifically do keyboard short cuts like F3, CTRL I, CTRL /, CTRL A, CTRL C, CTRL V, CTRL Z  etc. still work.

Please share your experience and tips for success in taking the real exam.

Hello,

Here is the link to the Library article on the SAS Community site that provides great tips for taking the BASE Programming Specialist: https://communities.sas.com/t5/SAS-Communities-Library/Tips-and-Strategies-for-the-A00-231-SAS-Base-...

The multiple choice questions on the exam do not require use of the lab environment. You can still get to the lab but it is a bit awkward and we do NOT recommend it.

You will have access to a fully functional version of Enterprise Guide to use during the exam.  However, you should plan on NOT using keyboard shortcuts.

Hope this helps,

Becky
