Why can I not select "run"?

It looks like you are not connected to a SAS environment, and you don't have SAS installed locally on your Windows machine. If you do have SAS installed, check this article: Using SAS Enterprise Guide with your local SAS installation

Note the message in the top right of your screenshot - no profile selected. If you do already have an EG profile created, click on the message to select it. If you don't have a profile then you will need to create one. Are you using SAS on your PC or a remote SAS server?
