Is there any standard methodology for creating tables and listings associated with reporting of clinical trials.

There is no std methodology for developing the tables and listings, whatever approach you could follow you may, however the only requirement is that developed table and listings should be similar to the mock shell provided in SAP or RAP. You may use any sas procedure appropriate to create the final dataset and should use proc report for final reporting.
