Can someone tell me if these are experimental (so could easily disappear) or not.

Hello Rose,

The pageof inline function is considered production in 9.1.

Headery and footery will never be called production, but they won't go away. The values used there can be anything. They are inserted in the rtf doc at the appropriate locations but can't be verified. They were created for rtf savvy folks who needed them for specific projects and took responsibility for insuring they are correct for themselves.
