I have downloaded the SAS University version from the following URL:
https://www.sas.com/en_us/software/university-edition/download-software.html#windows-download
I have followed all the steps mentioned on the above page. As part of starting the Virtual machine step, I have started the VM in the virtual box after selecting the folders that I have created in shared folders section.
When I click on start, I saw the following text on the blank screen "press f12 key for boot menu". I haven't done anything, then the blank screen stayed forever.
I haven't seen the SAS logo as mentioned in the Step4 in the setup guide.
Note:
I have the Virtualization and Hyper-V enabled.
I'm using windows 10 OS which is having a 512GB SSD and 16GB RAM for this installation.
Can someone please let me know if I'm missing any other step

hi Reeza,
Thanks for responding to my post. Yeah, I'm using virtual box 6.0. Should I downgrade it to lower version?
My VM started working after disabling the following features:
Hyper-V and Windows Hypervisor platform
Hi
Can anyone point me to the steps to disabling these two features?
Thanks.
Hi Reeza
Thanks for the pointer. However my Hyper-V was disabled initially and still I was seeing the blank screen so this is what I did
1. Enabled Hyper-V restart the system
2. Disable Hyper-V restart the system
and now I get the following error
(VERR_NEM_MISSING_KERNEL_API).
VT-x is not available (VERR_VMX_NO_VMX).
Result Code: | E_FAIL (0x80004005) |
Component: | ConsoleWrap |
Interface: | IConsole {872da645-4a9b-1727-bee2-5585105b9eed} |
Additionally in VMware I get this error
VMware Player and Hyper-V are not compatible. Remove the Hyper-V role from the system before running VMware Player
Any suggestions
Thanks
Rohit
Wow, thank you!!! I've been searching for 30+ minutes and this got me fixed right away.
On windows search: windows features and turn off hyper-v and windows hypervisor. It works after a reboot.
Thanks
