We have been having JAVA issues sporadically from proc SGPLOT. Does anybody have idea what's the cause of the error? We're using SAS 9.3 now. The error message is "Unable to load the Java Virtual Machine. Please see the installation instructions or system administrator."

Thanks!

Is SAS running locally (installed on your PC) or on a server?

SAS is running on a network machine which is a PC.

It may be that the Java version on the server is not compatible. I don't have 9.3 but the last couple of SAS versions were somewhat sensitive the version of Java. If the server's Java was automatically updated it might be a problem. You should check or have someone with the approriated access the Java version and the version in the SAS configuration files to see if they are the same.

If this is JAVA version problem, why it happened sporadically?

Your best bet is to report the problem to SAS Tech Support.  They are in the best position to handle such issues.  See link at the bottom of this page "Submit a problem report".
