How do I convert a SAS map data set to a shapefile?

I can use MAPIMPORT to convert a shapefile to a SAS map data set; how do I go the other direction and convert a SAS map data set to a shapefile?

I am looking to run an external program that takes a shapefile as input and creates a shapefile as output.  I want to create that input shapefile in SAS.  I will then use SAS/Graph for the display after I import the output shapefile.

There is no MAPEXPORT or way to write a shapefile from SAS.
