Hi everyone,
I'm working in SAS Visual Investigator (Viya 2025.09) and looking to streamline the relationship creation process.
Currently, when a user creates a relationship, they must go through three steps. I would like to finalize the process immediately after the user selects an object in the Search Results tab, effectively bypassing the third step (Relationship Information).
Is there a configuration or a way to trigger the 'Finish' action earlier in the wizard?
Thanks in advance for any insights!
Hi,
We recently worked on a new feature to allow the user to relate to multiple entities at one time when creating relationships. This feature is in version 2026.05. As part of these changes we have simplified the process for creating new relationships, which may address your situation.
In the new view, when a user attempts to create a relationship from one existing object to another, say an object of entity type Person to an object of entity type Intelligence Report, the user will select the object in the list that they want to relate to at the Search Results step, and if there are no relationship properties available for the user to edit, then the footer button on the Search Results tab will show 'Save' which allows the user to finalize the relationship creation process at the Search Results step. However, if there are relationship properties available for the user to edit, then the footer button will show 'Next' and the user will need to finalize the relationship creation at the Relationship Information step.
I assume in your case, you are wanting the finalize the relationship creation process at the Search Results step because, when you click through to the Relationship Information tab, all the information is non-editable, is that correct?
Hi,
That sounds great. Since all the information in the relationship is non-editable in my case, that new feature should resolve the issue completely.
Thank you very much for the help!
