Hi,

I’m seeing different delete behavior in SAS VI when deleting an object (record):

  • With a standard relationship (single type relationship), I can’t delete the object until I remove the relationship first (expected behavior as shown here).

  • With a heterogeneous relationship (multiple type relationship), where one object is related to several different target objects under the same relationship definition, I can delete the object even though those links still exist.

Is this expected behavior? Are these types of relationships enforced differently in terms of delete constraints?

I would appreciate clarification on whether this is by design.

Thanks,

Maayan

Hi Maayan,

I thought users were always prompted the to delete the relationships first, regardless of the relationship type so I'd like SAS Technical Support to investigate. I've passed the information onto them and asked them to follow-up. They may reach out for more info about the ticket number and we can also update here.

Thanks

Susan
