Small clicking area

When I try to call up my notifcation list, I find that only the very lower half of my avatar picture and a small area below my name act as "click-target". While this is rather easy to hit on a PC with the mouse, it is quite difficult on the tablet.

I thought this might have been a behavior from my latest browser update. 

I see similar behavior with the target area for the "sign in" icon as well.
