Three things to note for SAS admins: May 2019

How is it even possible that we’ve already been through five months of 2019? I can’t believe it. And I can’t believe all of the great content happening in the admin community. This month I want to highlight three recent things you may have missed:

• The new Architecture community. It’s a place for architects to gather and share ideas around planning, designing and executing SAS within their organization.
• The next SUGA webinar on containers and SAS Viya: June 18, 3:00-4:00pm ET. Register to join live or on-demand.
• A library article on administering the grid from the command line in SAS 9.4M6. It’s the first in a series of articles about new interfaces.

I shared a few other SAS admin things in May that I thought might be worthwhile to point out here too...

• SAS Visual Analytics 7.5 for SAS 9.4 was released. This version doesn't use Flash and the VA administrator functionality is now in SAS Environment Manager. See the SAS community article SAS Visual Analytics 7.5 Sneak Preview Demo to get a preview of what it looks like and the comments below to the documentation.
• SAS community article written mid-May by @MargaretC, Updated information about running SAS in the Public Cloud
• SAS community article written at the start of May by @ErwanGranger, Viya-ARK, the Awesome Resource Kit.
• SAS community article written last week by @GerryNelson, Getting your data from LASR to CAS
• SAS blog post written at the start of May by @GerryNelson , Content promotion in Viya: overview and details

Also a reminder that plans for SAS Global Forum 2020 are already under way and the SUGA (SAS User Group for Administrators) committee would like to get some help from the community for the 2020 program. @MargaretC asks in the post SAS Global Forum 2020 - need help from the community to share feedback on the session topics and subtopics as this will determine the program structure for the group of users that keep the SAS platform at it's best. Please have your say!
