Hello,

Could you confirm whether sasdemo and sassrv user's are created when installing the SAS or its created after installation? I can't find these users in metadata and OS level.

A sassrv is a SAS Spawned Servers account, so yes it is a part of the installation. https://go.documentation.sas.com/?cdcId=bicdc&cdcVersion=9.4&docsetId=bisecag&docsetTarget=p18wh3fg2...

@Kurt_Bremser

We are using sas on AIX env. It includes metadata, compute and web server. No, this was installed by someone else.

The deployment process does not create user accounts in the OS, only in Metadata, so creating the users in the OS is something that should have been done already. Creating sasdemo is optional, during deployment there is a check box presented for creating the sasdemo account in Metadata.

No, a sassrv account (not necessarily with the user name sassrv) is required.

Thanks!

I got sassrv account with different name. Can we find sas demo with different account in smc?

If created, it would be under the user "SAS Demo User" in SAS Management Console. Similarly under the Accounts tab of the user's properties.
