After applying the latest hotfix files for our midtier I am now receiving an "Application Blocked by Java Security" error box. I have added the server and the server/port to the exceptions list and still get the error. I have also had Java reinstalled on my workstation. The Java version is 1.8.0_171. Has anyone else seen this and found a solution?

Hello @DJWanna,

yes, this is known. Did you have the chance to come across those 2?

  • Problem Note 61526: Launching SAS® Enterprise Miner(tm) via Java Web Start displays “Java Application Blocked by Java Security” http://support.sas.com/kb/61/526.html
  • Problem Note 60326: SAS® Enterprise Miner™ fails to launch (via Java Web Start) and an "Unable to launch the application" Application Error dialog box is displayed http://support.sas.com/kb/60/326.html

Additionally, if your SAS Miner web server is configured for SSL (meaning, HTTPS urls), an update might overwrite your java certificate store. To solve this, you might need to re-import the certificates in your client java certificate store.

PS. For our reference, what is the version and maintenance version of your SAS installation?

Please let us know if it helps.

Kind regards.

Juan
