Hi everyone,

I trying to use SAS EM 14.2 JWS. When starting the application, the following error appear:

Error: Unsigned application requesting unrestricted access to system

I found this SAS note about this problem: http://support.sas.com/kb/59/809.html. In fact, my PC has Java 8 version 144. So, I proceed to install the hotfix mentioned on this SAS Note: http://support.sas.com/kb/60/326.html. After applying the hotfix, I tried to connect again, but error continues.

After that, I downgrade the Java for 8 version 111 (as mentioned in the first SAS Note) but the error continues...

Attached the complete error and detail of my current Java version. Any help is appreciated.

Regards,

Try the below link. Probably not the safest, but it worked for me. The bigger question is probably to SAS to find out what the permanent fix is. @alexal, any ideas ?

@MariaD@nhvdwalt,

Java 8 Update 144 (JRE 1.8.0_144) has the fix for Update 141 issue. When hot fix A9S001 is applied, Update 144 works without issues with EM 14.2 via Java Web Start.

Hi @alexal,

@MariaD,

Yeah, that should work. Please open a new track with SAS EM support by sending a message to support@sas.com.

Hi @nhvdwalt,

In meanwhile, I'll try the workaround mentioned by you. Do you know how comment out the Java setting on Windows? I can't find it.

Hi @MariaD

Just comment out the jdk.jar.disabledAlgorithms= value in ..\Java\jre1.8.0_131\lib\security\java.security

Hi @nhvdwalt,

I've just tried to comment that line but still have the same error. Currently I'm using Java 8 version 144. After comment this property, is necessary doing something else?

Try deleting the cached Java WS applications. It's one of the tabs in the Java console under the Windows Control panel.
