Hello SAS Users,

We are on SAS 9.4M5 and would like to know how to get the following reports on SAS users usage of applications. I do see lotso f information online however if someone could direct me to something specific, then I can get started with that.

Here is what I would like to report on.

1) SAS user report on logon logoff and the time they were using a particular SAS application -- mainly SAS EG and SAS Studio
2) SAS user report on which SAS folder / project they were accessing ?
3) Failed Logins?
4) SAS CPU/Memory usage based on user?
5) Time it took to run a SAS code by user

These are the ones that I came up with which would be useful to monitor and report on a monthly basis. I did see SAS environment Manager , however I only see system level reports like CPU / Memory usage, network mounts , disk reads/writes ect. What I am looking for is user specific reports.

Thanks! Appreciate all your responses!!

Hi @RupaJ

SAS Environment manager has an add-on package "Service Architecture Framework" which has to be initialized in order to enable extra logging and capturing the metrics required. This will also enable few out-of-the-box reports based on the extended data captured.

You can find the steps in order to initialize this framework in the link below. The doc is ver. 9.4M3 however the steps would be similar for M5 as well.

Once you have this initialized you can find the default reports in the report center. Details here - https://documentation.sas.com/?docsetId=evug&docsetTarget=n1iilfckx4t7amn13erb3i5g98mp.htm&docsetVer...

This PDF is a good doc listing all the reports and a brief description. The ones you might be interested in is under the section Audit Reports (Log Forensic) - https://support.sas.com/rnd/emi/SASEnvMgr/EVSAF/Report_Center_Report_Listings.pdf
