Hi,

I have installed and configured SAS9.4 M8 in Metadata and Compute server today. It has been done successfully and the sevices are up and running.

Got an issue with the Workspace server, Storedprocess server & pooled workspace server.

When tried to validate the server, getting the below error.

Can anyone suggest on this.

Kind Regards,

Siddhu

Is the services up? The error message is complaining that there is no service running on the specified machine on that port!.

Is this deployment single machine or multi?

Is it on Linux or Windows?

Have you verified the services using SASMC?

Have you checked the services if they are up? ex: using sas.servers script status on Linux

If you are using SAS Management Console on a remote PC and not on the SAS server machine itself then this could be a firewall that is blocking access from the PC running SMC to the SAS server machine for port 8591.

I would perform a reboot of the SAS services where the SASApp_Record1 server is deployed. The error from SAS EG is stating that the services are likely not running therefore it can't connect.

Possibly a firewall blocking the communication between the client and the server as well?

If sll services are running, then it is most likely a firewall rule preventing you from connecting via port 8591. Check this port is open on your PC by using telnet if your SAS server is running Unix, or if you have a Windows server, use netstat on the server itself.
