Is Hadoop required in VAAR/LASR Distributed ?

Hello,

Trying to check the requirements of VAAR/LASR distributed configuration.

There are some items not clear to me:

Is hadoop required in tkgrid / High Performance Analytics?

If yes, is a hadoop distribution required like cloudera or the sashadoop.tar.gz that comes with the depot is sufficient?

By the way. we are using SAS 9.4 M7

What SAS products are you installing? LASR is part of SAS VA and also some other products. AFAIK, Hadoop is not a requirement for any SAS product.

The SAS Product is High performance risk / Model Implementation Platform.

In installation of TKGrid. as per install guide need to specify the hadoop path

@alko13  - The Hadoop path mentioned in your link appears to be optional and is only required if you use Hadoop.

During Configuration in SDW. what needs to be selected if not using Hadoop?

Seems on the succeeding steps, some hadoop values need to be entered

@alko13  - I suggest you contact Tech Support as they can provide much better guidance than I can. 

EDIT: From that link you posted Hadoop installation / configuration appears to be optional. Whether you use Hadoop or not would be part of your agreed design.
