Hi, I have SAS 9.4 installed with Data Integration deployment plan.

I have a new SAS order which includes SAS/ACCESS interface for Microsoft SQL Server, which was not included in the previous order. I need to install this new product on top of the current installation.

Which are the correct steps to do this?

Try this for me...

Run the (new) SDW again. Select to install only SAS Foundation and Related software. Select only 'SAS Foundation' to install. At the screen where all the Foundation SAS components are listed, only select Base (default) and SAS Access to SQL Server. Then proceed with the installation.... Be sure to select the new license key.

Hi, thanks for reply. I've already followed that guide but the new SAS/ACCESS interaface was not installed (although it is shown by SAS in the products list of the new order). What SAS wizard did was to update all the components already installed in the previous order, but it did not add the ACCESS interface to Microsoft SQL Server.

After the update process I've tried to run again Deployment Wizard and choose "Install additional software" from the "Select deployment type" page, but there the SAS/ACCESS interface is not listed:

Am I missing something?

SAS/ACCESS interface to Microsoft SQL Server is not present. But in the Deployment Wizard, when I select my order, the product is present:

Hi @lfabbri

Are you using the new depot that came with the new order ?

Check that SAS Access to SQL Server appears in the license file that came with the new depot.

Hi @nhvdwalt, what I did was to download the new order Software Depot on top of the existing software depot using the SAS Download Manager from here https://support.sas.com/downloads/browse.htm?fil=&cat=49.

Is that correct?

Try this for me...

Run the (new) SDW again. Select to install only SAS Foundation and Related software. Select only 'SAS Foundation' to install. At the screen where all the Foundation SAS components are listed, only select Base (default) and SAS Access to SQL Server. Then proceed with the installation.... Be sure to select the new license key.

Thank you very much, I've succesfully installed following your steps.

Now I have a new problem...basically and the end of the update process the wizard said that it failed to start the SAS Object Spawner because the port was already used...I've tried to restart windows, stopped all the SAS services and tried again but got the same error. I've finished the installation anyway, skipping this error.

Now my problem is that when I try to register tables in a new Sql Server library I can't performs the logon to the SasApp, even with the admin user:

I think is probably related to the error on the SAS Object Spawner during the update process but I don't know how to solve it.

In windows services the Object Spawner seems to be running, but maybe it is related to the previous installation?

Any idea how to fix this issue?

Hi @lfabbri, I'm facing something similar in my SAS Platform, I'm trying 'add additional software' from Deployment Manager but there no such option is visible. Do you have another thread where I can discuss this?
