Dear All,

I'm trying to configure on linux RHEL the ODBC connector for MySQL.

I installed the ODBC DRIVER and filled the ODBC.ini, but when I'm trying to connect I have this error:

ERROR: CLI error trying to establish connection: [DataDirect][ODBC lib] Unicode converter buffer overflow
ERROR: Error in the LIBNAME statement.

Is there a chance to make it works?

Thanks a lot

Does this SAS Note apply?

Problem Note 68591: The error "Unicode converter buffer overflow" occurs when you use a DSN-less LIBNAME statement that contains the DriverUnicodeType=1 option

Is not that case because I'm using DSN configuration in ODBC.ini

Are you specifying the "DriverUnicodeType" option?

I tried that option in DSN configuration, but it returns another error about a sock file for a local installation of MySQL…but it is not that…
I tried the Linux connector ODBC with python and it works well.

I'd recommend you open a technical support ticket.
