Hi all

Is there any way to create dataset with list of SAS metadata roles and associated capabilities?

I found how to list users with associated groups. http://support.sas.com/documentation/cdl/en/lrmeta/63180/HTML/default/viewer.htm#p1k9zipe59ha2an1pq3...

I also found macro %MDUEXTR () which give me a lot of useful information. But there is no info about application actions.

I`m not very familiar with browing metadata tree but i found that capabilities are in  ApplicationActions tree.

What softare are you using?  This doesn't sound like Base SAS, more like one of the other packages.

Ok

I want to extract this info from metadata via code in SAS Base, so i put this question here.

Of course I have a lot of SAS apps in my depot:

EG,EM,SAS VA, SAS VS.

Where should I ask this question?

Your question is correctly placed in the Administration community as managing metadata is a key Admin responsibility.

Trying to unravel the metadata structure is hard. An alternative approach might be to check out the Metacoda SAS plugins to SAS Management Console:

That's what I would go with: MetaCoda. For things like that, these plug-ins are extremely helpful.

I "played" around with it a lot and it is a great complementing option for what SAS security already offers.

Thanks @SASKiwi and @anja for suggesting Metacoda Security Plug-ins.

@Darek, the Role and Capability Reviewers display the information you are after and we provide reports in HTML and CSV format. If you'd like a free 30 day evaluation to try out the software in your own environment, please register for one.

Kind Regards,

Michelle
