Hi folks,

We recently installed a new SAS Server on Linux (9.4M6). We installed the EM 15.1 client on a machine. When we tried to start a new SAS Miner session, the following error appear:

We opened the sassw.config and copy the sas environment url and paste it directly on a web browser. The sas-environment.xml opens fine. As you can see, we have two environments on the file because we have the legacy server (version 9.4M4) until we complete the migration to the new server.

Any suggestion?

Regards,

Suggest to try these options as shared in the KB link.

Diagnosing and resolving "The application was unable to load the SAS environment definitions."

This error message typically occurs when attempting to launch SAS Enterprise Miner Client. The message suggests that SAS Enterprise Miner Client was able to find the value for the SASENVIRONMENTSURL key, but encountered a problem when using that value as a URL. The problem could occur while accessing the URL, while inspecting the XML contents, or while validating the server(s) that are referenced in the XML.

As a first step, attempt to access the URL with a web browser on the problematic machine. If a web browser on the same machine can return the XML successfully, then investigation should focus on further diagnostics within SAS Enterprise Miner Client: em_console output. See the section "Collecting em_console output" for details.

If a web browser on the same machine cannot return the XML successfully, then investigation should turn to the server or to the connection between the client and server. Is the server process serving up the XML and running as expected? See the section "Inspecting server status" and "Collecting relevant server logs" for details.

If the issue persists, then engage SAS Technical Support. Be sure to include these items:

  1. a screenshot of the error message
  2. a copy of the SASHome\sassw.config file from the problematic client machine
  3. a screenshot illustrating the results of the attempt to access the URL with a web browser
  4. If accessing the URL via web browser is unsuccessful, then send these items:
    1. a screenshot or other output that illustrates the status of the server processes as described in the section "Inspecting server status"
    2. relevant server-logs as described in the section "Collecting relevant server-logs"
  5. If accessing the URL via web browser is successful, then send this item: em_console output from the time of the error as described in the section "Collecting em_console output"

Hi @Anand_V ,

We opened the URL with a web browser on the problematic machine and XML shows fine. Please see the sassw.config and XML below.

Hi @MariaD ,

I would like to stress the test proposed by @Anand_V , the best way to figure out the exact reason, or to approach it really close, is by looking at the debug/console logs of the SAS EM application.

In other hand, are you able to connect to miner through the Web Client? http://my-server:port/SASEnterpriseMinerJWS/Status

I would like to ask you as well if this is a brand-new installation, or it is a clone / upgraded installation.

Thank you in advance,

Best regards

Juan
