Hi everyone,
I accidentally deleted my program in SAS Studio. Is there a possibility to retrieve it ?
I think you are out of luck.
I am sorry to hear that. Unfortunately there is no trash bin functionality built into SAS. What is possible when it comes to recovery is strongly dependent on your OS type and setup. There might be hope, (see @Kurt_Bremser 's posting) but you should have a chat with your admin or some experienced user.
What I do not understand is what you mean with "I deleted the file with the program, not the program itself." Is it still somewhere available to you?
And should it really be gone: Very often it is quicker to re-write the code ... (and find out that it is way faster the second time). Don't know how precious your program was/is to you.
Good Luck

I think it is worth pointing out that SAS's other IDE SAS Enterprise Guide has AUTOSAVE functionality and that would have probably enabled you to recover. I don't know if there is any equivalent feature is planned for SAS Studio. If you had SAS Studio's Git code change management feature enabled then this would have allowed an "undelete". If you are using SAS Studio within an organisation then it is best practice to have Git code change management enabled. Ask your SAS administrator if it isn't.
Thank you for your reply. There was another thread in the forum today just about project recovery in EG ... maybe you can lend a helping hand there ...
Cheers

If you delete a file from SAS Content in SAS Viya it goes to the Recycle Bin, so it depends on the version of SAS and where the program file was stored as to whether its recovery would be a function of SAS or the file system.
