Hi folks,

Is there any special configuration to connect to SAS server on AIX from Python? Can we use the options detailed on winiomlinux config?

Regards,

If your python is running on Windows then yes, winiomlinux should work for you. I'm not aware of anything special that needs to be done to connect to AIX.

What do you mean when you say AIX SAS Server?

  • SAS Foundation running on AIX Server?
  • SAS Business Intelligence Platform (BI/EBI) running on AIX Server?

One of the factor you need to consider --- Where do you intend to run SASPy?

  • On Windows Desktop/Laptop
  • On the same AIX Server

The SASPY configurations settings & requirements are different depending on the Type of SAS Server (Foundation / EBI) and where you intend to run SASPy, because the Authentication requirement to the SAS Server would be different!

Thanks! Python is on Windows and our SAS Workspace is on AIX. We tried to connect but the following error appear:

The authentication server is not a SETUID ROOT

We used the winiomlinux options.

Are you able to connect to the Workspace Server from another client, like SAS Management Console? This error suggests an issue with permissions on the server.
