Hi Folks,
We already have a SAS installed on Linux server with SAS Visual Studio, SAS Risk and Finance Worksbench. We recently adquired SAS Enterprise Miner to install in the same SAS Server. We received the new depot and we already installed SAS Miner (using add additional product option) but we can't find the option to configure the EM.
We tried to use the Planned Deployment options, instead of add additional software, but using standard plan (EM two server), a complete new configuration directory is created. If we select the existing configuration directory a message appears informing all the previous metadata will be replace.
How we can configure EM without reconfigure the existing products?
Regards,
Adding Enterprise Miner is a multi-server upgrade. As such I would expect that you would get an updated deployment plan, based on your original deployment plan. Was one not provided in your SAS depot? Then you would run the SAS Deployment Wizard on all required SAS servers: Metadata, Application and Mid-tier. Then you would run SAS Deployment Manager to do the configuration.
Hi @SASKiwi , thanks for your answer. No, we don't received any updated plan for our installation. So, If I'm not understanding wrong, we need to request an upgraded plan for our current installation. After we receive it, we can proceed to SAS EM installation and configuration, and in this case we only execute the configuration for Miner, we don't need to recreate or reconfigure the existing products. That's correct?
Regards,
@MariaD - That is correct. The SAS Install Wizard compares what is installed with the plan and only installs new software. Also Deployment Manager will only configure the new software. If you have multiple SAS instances running - Lev1, Lev2 etc then you need the new deployment plan so SAS EM gets installed across those instances.
Thanks! I'll request the new version of the deployment plan.
Regards,
Hi @SASKiwi ,
Still regarding of this issue. We received a new version of SAS depot with new version of plan file and the licenses now unified (with the details of the previous and new products together).
After we proceed with the installation and configuration, the problem still occurs. The same erro appears when we tried to open SAS EM ("The application could not find a valid SAS environment to use") and now, If we tried to connect to SAS Visual Analytics an 404 error appear. We already have a track opened on SAS Support but we aren't move forward.
Any insight on it?
@MariaD - Tech Support is the best approach. They can look at your SAS installation and diagnose what is happening. Without further evidence it is near impossible to guess what is going wrong.
