Great to hear SAS will be working on this and enhancing rather than ditching SAS EG! I have some further suggestions re: reorganizing the “start page” display in SAS EG. I put the suggestions into the attached screen shot.

I support this request. I'm having a hard time keeping track of which EG project I most recently worked on. I have about 15-20 EG projects that are "pinned". There is no ability to sort these by most recently used!

this is a more elegant solution. At first I thought it was yyyymmdd10. Of course not! yymmdd10.

Great suggestion. I have occasionally encountered errors using SAS EG because of the temporary datasets showing in the Process Flow if I get disconnected and then log back in to our GRID environment.

Hi, I was searching for the answer to this question and found it elsewhere in the SAS online documentation: http://support.sas.com/rnd/base/topics/abbreviations/
"To import a KMF file, select Tools > Keyboard Macros > Macros. A window opens, and at the bottom is a button for IMPORT. Select the button and navigate to where you stored the file. SAS reads it automatically."
I tried this on my machine (swapped PCs at work) and it was successful. I noted that I could select all my keyboard macros / abbreviations and export them as a single KMF file. SAS appears to have imported them correctly into the new environment.

Update: I wasn't sure what was causing my problem so I wrote to SAS support. Here is their answer, which ended up fixing my problem: It looks as if you are running 32 bit SAS. Since the bits of SAS match, you should be able to use the EXCEL engine to export. I think your Microsoft Office components need to be reregistered. Please download and install the 32 bit file, AccessDatabaseEngine.exe, from the following link. http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=13255 Thanks SAS!

Hi All, I checked around the SAS communities and was diverted by other responses discussing 64 bit windows. The Class not registered error message from SAS is misleading. The actual cause appears to be some other cause. I would need to research this further to replicate the error (basically, disconnect my P: drive, which I don't want to do right now.) If you are one of those users who migrated to 64 bit windows, then yes, you probably should check those other posts mentioning 64 bit.
