Correct. The sas7bdat is a closely held secret by SAS. I asked for it to be released 20 years ago, and made some progress, but the idea was nixed. The only way to understand it is by deciphering the binary layout. The Python folks have a lot of it figured out but SAS is not going to help.   Your call as to whether you want to go down that route.   OleDB is the best option, ODBC is second, IMO. Hello, we have a similar requirement.  only we just need to parse sas7bdat files in a linux container and nothing more.  We have looked at the SAS Providers for OLE DB but they seem to only be available for windows.  Is there a base image that we can use which has the minimum requirements to parse these files?  We don't really care if its odbc,, jdbc, or anything else that is linux compliant.  Would really appreciate any help.   ...
