Hi  Anand_V,   Thank you for the thoughtful reply.  The install guide did state, deep in the text, it is usually: "machine/userID" and sassrv is commonly used.  I tried many variations of this and could not get it to work.  I think defining it was my problem as I don't really know what that means. I was having a hard time contacting SAS support, as I am in a different country.   However, I discovered that I initiated a planned deployment.  Going back and initiating a standard deployment actually skipped the need to do any of this.  I have now successfully installed!    Thanks again!
