Yes, that is correct! Yes, subtract first from the second and third. so subtract time 0 from time 7 and time 15 for all . No time is character. Thanks!

Thank You for the piece of code. This is helpful, but the variables Expense1, expense_2.... are actually named different. Like car_expense, book_expense, exp_office, exp_gas and so on. I named it as Expense_1...expense_40 just for example code.

Hi All, I'm trying to assign a value to 40 variables in a data set using if then statement in MACRO. But When I execute it, it assigns value to only last variable in the macro list. Here is my code. %macro up (var, var2); data abc_new; set abc; if &var is <0 then &var2= -1; else if &var is >0 then &var2 = 1; run; %mend up; %up (expense_1, crd_1); %up (expense_2, crd_2); " " " %up (expense_40, crd_40); when I execute this code my data set only contains crd_40. I don't see crd_1 thru crd_39.

Reeza, My apologies for not having clear code. Actually I was trying to write a shorter code for the similar problem I was having with my SAS code so I might have messed it up. So, This is my code. I'm trying to append all the estimate_table for all var (WBC, neutro....I have 40 of them). So I created a new data all_estimate ( base) and appended all the estimate_tables to it. But, SAS reads me an error saying WARNING: Variable Label was not found on BASE file. The variable will not be added to the BASE file. WARNING: Variable Estimate was not found on BASE file. The variable will not be added to the BASE file. WARNING: Variable StdErr was not found on BASE file. The variable will not be added to the BASE file. WARNING: Variable DF was not found on BASE file. The variable will not be added to the BASE file. WARNING: Variable tValue was not found on BASE file. The variable will not be added to the BASE file. WARNING: Variable Probt was not found on BASE file. The variable will not be added to the BASE file. Hi All, I'm trying to append proc means table for 40 variables. And I used below macro code to do so. Whenever I run this code it reads me an error "WARNING: Variable Mean was not found on BASE file. The variable will not be added to the BASE file." And the table age_table contains only one variable that is gender. Can please anybody help. I got it and this is what I did to solve it. %macro combine(); %do i=1 %to 30; proc sort data=a.cell_&i; by cell_id; run; proc sort data=a.well; by cell_id; run; data a.well_cell; merge a.well a.cell_1- a.cell_30; by cell_id; run; %end; %mend; %merge; So, if I have 50 datasets with different names do I have to specify all the names in the merge command?

Hi Reeza, I had similar issue as Alex and I used macro to merge 30 sas datasets. I used similar code but that would output only the last dataset instead of merging all datasets together. This is the code I used %macro combine(); %do i=1 %to 30; proc sort data=a.cell_&i; by cell_id; run; proc sort data=a.well; by cell_id; run; data a.well_cell; merge a.well a.cell_&i; cell_id; run; %end; %mend; %merge; So, a.well_cell would contain only cell_30 data. And if I do i= 1 %to 29 it would output cell_29 data. Some how I'm not able to merge all datasets. Thanks, Esita
