I am using the Path Analysis data object in SAS Visual Analytics version 8.4. I assigned a categorical variable with 3,000 observations, and I can only see the 500 most frequent observations(values). For example, default SAS report threshold will not allow me to find all observations beginning with “MATH”. Here are the problems that I’m currently seeing. These are observations that exist in the categorical variable: I need to be able to select the highlighted observations from above picture inside the path filter list below. But I’m only able to see at maximum 500 observations. Those observations above are not visible here: Please let me know if I can describe in more detail to help. Thank you, Robert

If possible I'd like to do this on the CAS Server using one of the following tools. SAS Data Studio - "Prepare Data" SAS Studio - "Develop Code" Do you have any suggestions as to how a I can make this a code I use in either of the following tools on CAS Server? Correction: Adding more than 100 on a deep nested operator Thank you for offering to take a look at my calculated column code. The data is currently on the CAS Server. I would certainly appreciate any assistance on getting this calculated. I have another option as a back-up. May need to make multiple tabs, but ideally would love to track the lifecycle from any possible beginning to end. Here's a sample: IF ( ( 'STUDENT LIFECYCLE STAGE'n In (‘Degree Completed’) ) AND ('ACAD_TERM_DESC'n In ('2010 Fall') ) ) RETURN '1SEP2010'd ELSE( IF ( ( 'STUDENT LIFECYCLE STAGE'n In (‘Degree Completed’) ) AND ('ACAD_TERM_DESC'n In ('2011 Fall') ) ) RETURN '1SEP2011'd ELSE( I have it down to 126 deep nested operators.

Hello All, I'm creating a custom calculated date based on 2 criteria. I was able to create the date however I received this error in the EDIT Calculation pop-up. (in Text view) Error: "The expression cannot be saved because an operator is nested too deeply. The current depth is 155 and the maximum depth is 100." Has anyone else received this error? Best, Rob

Thank you Sam. I appreciate your quick replies. We are looking into ways to allow permitted users to edit the report and save to their folder. Hopefully SAS will have sometime to build additional features on this object. It certainly has potential Best, Rob

Hi Sam, Thank you for sharing the documentation. We still have a problem with the limited functionality of the Path Analysis object in Report Viewer mode. In report viewer mode, the "Add path filter", "New Path Filter from Selection", and "New Object from Selection" options are not available. I'm wondering if you can point me to any documentation for adding this feature for end consumers. Background: Our organizational roles are currently divided between developers and viewers. Staff with developer access can view in edit mode and report mode, however, non-developer access only have the option to view reports. Is there anything that can help guide our IT team and db admins to "turn-on" these filtering and new-object features? Best, Rob

Hi SAS Community, Inspired by the SAS student tracking lesson in SAS VA Part 2 training, I'm designing a path analysis object that allows me to track unique IDs. Each unique ID has a unique interaction with the event variable using a time variable. I'd like to be able to extrapolate the path analysis node and links. gather data on the Unique IDs in the links who are continuing and dropping-off. When I maximize the object, I can only see a table of the Type, Event, From Node, To Node, Path Freq by Link. This object would be more help if I could at least add more column details about the unique ID and the corresponding variables. Ideally, I need this to perform as a website customer behavior dashboard similar to the Google Analytics dashboards. Do you have any advice or work arounds? Best, Rob P.s. Hello All, I have numeric data on a count based on multiple criteria from specific date. The date and character variables are (Date, Food Name, Compliments). I need to calculate the change in bottles of Ketchup used for hamburgers and hotdogs from Jan 1, 2014 to Sept 1, 2014 to Jan 1, 2015 to Sept 1, 2015. So far I have attempted the following % difference features in SAS VA: 1. All periods to the percent change including the period with date, system fails to recognize these specific dates 2. The create percentage difference feature based on the numeric count, system fails I attached the file to this posting. Have fun! and please let me know if I can provide more details.
