I need to change the field attributes for a lot many .csv files that I'm importing into SAS by the import step in a project. It's very cumbersome the way I'm doing it by modifying the import step, and getting to the field attributes and changing the values in the various columns - type, len, informat, format. Some files have a lot many variables so I need to take 2 or 3 screen shots....when I import the next .csv file, I have to keep the previous screen shot open and change accordingly. Sometimes I lose my place as it's a picture and I can't highlight anything to hold my spot.   For some reason I cannot import these files programmatically in a data step and set the formats and informats as I need them...they have to be done as a step in the project.        Thanks for any help !!     ... I have a very silly but frustrating issue! The icons for programs, data etc have somehow moved way, way below on the project grid. I selected the group of icons to move up but it's taken me hours and they have moved up only a few millimeters !! Please help on how to quickly move them up. I have data as shown below. I need to add the numbers preceding "mL"  for each ID, into 1 variable, and add the numbers preceding mL/kg per ID into another variable. I tried removing the spaces but I don't know how many digits the number will be, to count back. I tried extracting the numeric part but then other numbers like the 9 from the % also gets extracted. Any help on how to do it in SAS (or Excel) will be appreciated. Thank you! Hello, I am joining 2 tables and this is my syntax:   proc sql; create table final1 as select a.*, b.* from main1 a left join main2 b on a.ACCOUNT_ID = b.ACCOUNT_ID ; quit;   And I know why I get the following note: WARNING: Variable ACCOUNT_ID already exists on file WORK.FINAL1   Both a and b data sets have many columns and I don't want to list out ALL the columns of b and just eliminate ACCOUNT_ID. I tried using DROP at various places but did not work. What is the method with proc sql if you want to keep a lot more columns than you want to drop, when joining tables. When I use this code: proc sql; create table finn_counts1 as select *, sum(finn36) as ct_finn36 from finn1 group by ACCOUNT_ID; quit;   I get the correct sum (albeit it's for each row of ACCOUNT_ID, and I can dedup that) but why does the order of the rows for each ACCOUNT_ID change? It's not sorted by any variable, looks randomly changed.   Get these notes in the log: NOTE: The query requires remerging summary statistics back with the original data.
