This should work. I don't need to abort, but I can still update a macro variable with a value to determine if each of my datasets were validly created and then report to the command line (e.g. 'X echo Success;') for the scheduling software to know the results. Thanks! ... View more

Validation of dataset creation

I'm trying to verify that a data set(s) has been createdwith more than 1 obs. We're running several jobs in sequence using an non-SAS scheduler and need to have a means to output to the UNIX command line the results of an in-job test that validates the creation of 1 or more datasets. Has anyone come across this? I've tried using 'syserr' withlimited success since the creation of a dataset with 0 obs seems to be considered a success. Ideas? Nathan ... View more
