Hey everyone,   I'm trying to use a macro for a datasource name. I've defined it under Administration > Macro Files, and I can use it successfully with other nodes, such as a SQL Query node. In an Expression node, though, it doesn't work. I've tried the two ways the Expression Language Guide suggests:   1) DSN = %%dsn_name%% 2) DSN = "%%dsn_name%%"   // with quotes 2) DSN = getvar("dsn_name")   # 1 does not validate # 2,3 validates, but results in the same error: "Data source name not found and no default driver specified..."   I'm using DM Studio 2.6.   Thanks,     mark ... Hi all,   Running into an issue, maybe someone has some experience with it. We're trying to insert XML text into an Oracle table with a column that has a data type of XMLTYPE. Under the hood, Oracle stores this as a CLOB, with special XML handling abilities. But DM Studio cannot handle this insertion. We got the below error message, which is extremely misleading as it is not a DATE issue -- we tested to be sure - we do have a date column in the table, but that is not the issue:   [HY000] [DataFlux][ODBC Oracle Wire Protocol driver][Oracle]ORA-01483: invalid length for DATE or NUMBER bind variable (1483) [ODST38]   When we changed the type of the column from XMLTYPE to CLOB, the insertion worked. so the question is: Can the DM Studio handle XMLTYPE data?   Thanks,     - mark ... Hi everyone, I want to capture any run-time errors (as events) that may occur, like the password failing, or a database connection timeout. How do I get the Event Listener node to capture these so I can report them? I'm using DataFlux Data Management Studio 2.6. I have tried using the Event Listener node in a process job that references two data jobs. The Event Listener node is configured for All events. It outputs to an Expression node where I write any captured information to a log file. As a test of this, I cleared the db credentials for the driver that I’m using, and when I run the job within DM Studio, the DM Studio logging (in-application logging) is reporting “__ERRORMSG = [3:DEST_ODBC:Data Target (Insert) - LINK_OD_DF.DF_BRIDGE_ANIMAL_ASSUR_NUMS_T] [HY000] [DataFlux][ODBC Oracle Wire Protocol driver]Insufficient information to connect to the data source. (0)” So an event is definitely thrown. But my Event Listen node is not capturing this, or any, error. The node is placed within the process job, where it theoretically will catch errors/events raised from the referenced data jobs. It is not connected to any other node in the job, other than the Expression node, if this matters. Does anyone know how I can capture all run-time errors from a process job? Thanks! -  mark ... I’m trying to create a database connection to a remote instance of SQL Server in DM Studio. I can create the connection, and it works (I can see the tables and their data), but DM Studio will not save the authentication credentials for some reason. Every single step of looking at the database, or table, or whatever, it prompts me for the password. And in a Data Job, I can see this data source connection and select it for the job's data source, but when attempting to preview I get a "Data source name not found and no default driver selected" error. I have saved the credentials in DM Studio, and DM Studio thinks that I’ve saved them, but when I go to the <DataConnectionName>.cfg file, all it has are: # # connection information for DSN: <DataConnectionName> # [Empty. No stored information.] Whereas the normal *.cfg file would have something like: # # connection information for DSN: <DataConnectionName> # UID = !! 'xxuxjxvjidivnidvn==' PWD = !! 'ghrotknpotUfQ==' I tried generating the encrypted UID and PWD and copying the encrypted content into the empty file, but that doesn’t work. That makes me think that maybe a SQL Server connection needs additional information in the DataConnectionName.cfg file. I tried both the “DataFlux 32-bit SQL Server Wire Protocol”, and the “SQL Server” drivers with the same result. Hi everyone, I would like to know if there is any SAS DataFlux documentation on error handling of various kinds. Failing documentation, if anyone is willing to share their experiences, I'd be very grateful. The applications: SAS 9.4, DataFlux Data Management Server and Studio 2.6 What are the processes?: DF Jobs and DF web services (based on jobs) Types of errors: 1) License shortage (what is the behavior of DF if this occurs? Anyway to handle gracefully?) 2) Database connection failure or interruption (In a job or web service, anyway to detect this and handle gracefully -- i.e., stop the job, log error, alert operations to failure? 3) Any other job/web service failure of an unexpected kind? 4) Is there any mechanism or node that can detect all DF failures of any kind? We've recently updated our server with the new SAS 9.4 set of applications (we have several DataFlux products, like DF Managment Server, DF Studio, DF Web Server, DF Web Studio, etc.). We noticed that the Business Data Network is no longer available in the DataFlux Web Studio. This is confirmed in Web Studio documentation: What's New in DataFlux Web Studio 2.5 DataFlux Web Studio 2.5 no longer contains the Business Data Network module. SAS Business Data Network 3.1 and SAS Lineage 3.1 are now available as Web clients. Now we’re trying to find out how to access the Business Data Network. From what we can tell, it looks like it was installed (but we can’t see where), and we’re licensed for it. But how do you get to it? We need the location of the executables. Nothing that we have installed has a "Links" section, unless it's very well hidden.
