We've been tasked with producing a monthly dashboard of mainframe statistics for management (number of jobs, steps, CICS transactions, file transfers, CPU utilization, DB2 data base accesses, I/Os, tape mounts, et al). Many ideas for speedometers, histograms, pie charts, etc. have already been tossed around, with suggestions for forwarding to Excel for massaging and on to an external web server for presentation. However, ALL of the data for the dashboard originates in z/OS SMF records. We've already got Merrill's MXG and many in-house SAS/SMF programs with ready access to all of the requested information. With data reduction and graphics output provided by SAS, we can serve the webpages from our z/OS system's web-server; no need to go external for anything. Thank You! We'll check out the examples you mentioned. We needed a quick answer on SAS/Graph in case we needed to get the cashflow moving, so we appreciate the quick response.
