Hi @jerry898969 and @ballardw , I really appreciate jerry898969's question and ballardw's effort to solve the problems. Like in ballardw's response the current implementation of RTF in PROC REPORT would not solve these problems. So, it's a matter of a different implementation of RTF that could potentially solve the problems. Attached is an example of such an implementation, it was created as an RTF file and it's saved as a Word document. See it for yourselves. There is no page break in this file. The Microsoft Word/RTF handles pagination very well, and you will never count lines on a page. Jianmin Long

I tried the UNIVARIATE approach on a wide table of 7500 columns (35 rows), and UNIVARIATE ran in 300s. All other techniques I tried on this table ran much much slower. I think the Univariate approach is very powerful. If you search the help for Proc Template there is an example that shows how to modify a procedure's table template, use that, and then remove the replaced template. Good work on finding at least one manual way to correct the issue once identified.

Is there a way I can also add Median and Quartile? When I output Proc Means output to a dataset only N Min Max MEAN and STD comes out. In my transpose I also want median and the quartile information. Thanks!

I was able to figure it out by adding the encoding option to the include statement proc printto log="C:\temp\test.log" new ; run ; %inc "C:\temp\test.sas" /encoding="utf-8" source2 ; proc printto ; run ;

Hi Ballard, Thank you so much. Your data steps returns the correct 17 variables. Sorry for any confusion. I justed wanted to read in that file and get the list of tables which are listed under "FILES" and then using those table names search the reset of the document for each table.variable combination. So tab1 would be first and I want it to return the n variables that are associated with tab1. In this example it is these 3 like your code returns. tab1.id tab1.type tab1.region Thanks again this is a big help.

ballardw, The source is this site: https://www.census.gov/geo/maps-data/data/tiger-line.html I'm using the 2016 block data. I'm going to have to dig deeper into the data and see if it is what you said just a change reflected on one side but not the other. Thank you

ballardw, Thank you for your reply. Is there a way with proc geocode to make the match exact or just slightly different? This process will need to run for over 80K obserevations and I have to make sure the latitude and longitude point to the original address.
