Dynamic Prompt Data

Forgive me for my lack of understanding of the SAS architecture and how it works, I just use it for statistics and repeatability for future users. I'm having trouble creating a dynamic prompt. I first tried static prompt and it let me browse for a data table in my project and get values from a column which is exactly what I need. Unfortauntely the values in that column change frequently so I need a more dynamic approach. I'd think that dynamic would work similar: point the prompt to look for data in the table preceeding it... Makes sense. Instead it's pointing me to SAS Folders on the Metadata server. This I know nothing about. Why would they force dynamic prompts to be taken from there as opposed to the project? Theoretically if you can get values from a preceeding table for a static prompt, there should be no reason you can't get those values at runtime as long as the table is generated before the prompt query is executed. How can I get my table from the work directory of my project into the "My Folder" in the "SAS Folders" so that I can make this simple dynamic prompt? I've messed around with "Update Library Meta" and "Assign Project Library", but I don't want to do anything on a global scale and I'm not 100% sure how these functions work. Well the trick seemed to be use quotations. The user selects a string. I tried to report the string by doing &promptname. I tried '&promptname' and that returned "&promptname". Then I tried double quote "&promptname" and that returned the selected prompt value that I was looking for. Very odd behavior from double quotes, that's usually reserved for designating text. I've made a prompt (drop down format) where the user selects from a list of text values, I would like to use the TEXT VALUE that the user chooses in a computed column. As an example,  I would like to simply return the text value the user has chosen as a computed column. I tried: &promptname and it errored out. I was trying to call the value like the filter does when it calls the value of the prompt. I'm sure this feature exists. Manually filling columns

I have a blank column in an EG data table and I would like to be able to manually fill it. The column has quite a few rows so doing it one at a time is not possible. I have a value in my clipboard that I would like to paste into ever row for that column. When I highlight all 1,000 rows in that column and hit paste, the value only appears in the first row of the column. Is there any way to manually fill a value to the end of the column? I know this feature exists in JMP. I know of a few work arounds (make it a computer column), export it into another program and bring it back in, but I'm more interested in knowing if this functionality exists in EG. Before any responses were posted I had managed to dig all of this info up in the help file, so when Reeza posted the information I gave it a only quick glance. Extract data from SAS Report

I've conducted a T-Test in Enterprise Guide and it has generated a report with all of the data I need. However, this data is not very useful to me in report form. Is there a way to extract some of the data (a particular table with the p-value) from the SAS Report and make it a queryable data table? Thanks. ... View more
