In replace put a space. I have seen it stated that Cntrl + j instead of the Alt works. You could also write a small VBA and replace CHAR(10) with a space on all cells.

Somewhere in your options there should be one which defines this, and you can select any template from a drop down, at least I can in Base SAS under Tools->Options->Preferences-> Results.

The doc seems to have been removed, google SAS Abbreviations should throw up the documentation. Yes, GUI creation is pretty much non-existant in SAS.

No, it will not. Use proc sort with nodupkey, or SQL distinct to get rid of duplicates. You code will create a new file, open each in the set and write out to the new file. Not very read/write optimized. Proc append doesn't open the file, just sets them together so less I/O operation. The proc append will throw warnings if the dataset formats are not exact or if there are more variables. Dataset will warn on some things, but will expand the output table with any new columns without warning. Best check the guidance for complete run down as there are plus/minus points on each/

Your probably better of writing an exported yourself with datastep file ...; and put commands. You can do proc export and output the code, then copy that and modify it slightly.

Perhaps you could post the Excel file to show these carriage returns? Do you mean you have a special symbol for carriage returns in your data or just the alt/enter within cell? The guessing rows is applicable to proc import for Excel files, please see the guidance at: Base SAS(R) 9.3 Procedures Guide, Second Edition I think the registry change affects both, the actual option on the import may not. Just to add, have you tried using the libname: libname mybook excel "....xls" mixed=yes getnames=yes;

Some options: 1) File->SaveAs->CSV. Datastep import with delimiter=",". where col1 ne ""; 2) Add XXXXXXX to the length required in your spreadsheet as first row. 3) Check out libname xls, which may or may not work. 4) There is also a system option call something like guessrows in the systems registry which should be updated to a large number.

Mmm, well I don't use Enterprise Guide. With Base SAS I would always switch that output off with nowindows and re-direct to my own files. However I know in Base SAS under the options is: Tools->Options->Preferences-> Results In there is an option to create HTML output and you can select style. Maybe that helps.

Ok. Could you clarify what you mean by the SAS report is not using the style. Do you mean the report window which opens as default, which you can bypass by adding nowindows to the report statement? If so, I think that's a fixed format output. I would suggest use the HTML or create PDF/RTF etc. for viewing.

Why in your style = statements in the html, and proc reports, do you use the OwnStyle text, when you have defined your template as Q_Perior? Change either to the same and it should then work.

<TD> = Table Deliniator. The should be resolving by the interpretor as the time to move over to the next column. Its odd that you have it just once, is there anything in the data of 8:39:15 or CPU8 which may interfere with the encoding such as special characters?

Its not straightforward, you would either create a macro or do a call execute, to generate each output, so print row one with anchor xx, then print next one with anchor yy, not breaking between each one. If so then you need the line ods escapechar="^"; If you mean another character then maybe switch to the n, some things that work in RTF for instance don't work in PDF.
