Hi Jeff, yes those are the only errors i get when i submit the libname from SAS EG. I have explicitly set the config/jar paths also like so:   options set=SAS_HADOOP_CONFIG_PATH="/sashome/hadoopConfigFiles"; options set=SAS_HADOOP_JAR_PATH="/sashome/hadoopJarFiles"; ... View more

Hi, i am trying to connect to Hortonworks with SAS/Access for Hadoop. Able to get the klist, and able to ssh from the SAS Client machine to the one of the nodes. But getting an error when trying to connect via SAS EG. Any idea?     libname zhdplib  hadoop subprotocol='hive2' server='myserver'   schema=myschema; user='user123' pwd='Test123';     ERROR: Unable to connect to the Hive server. ERROR: Error trying to establish connection. ERROR: Error in the LIBNAME statement.   Alex ... View more

Hi, i am trying to connect to Hortonworks using SAS/Access for Hadoop. I compared the jar files and they look good (versions slightly different as they were provided by the Hadoop admin). I am able to get a kilist from the SAS Client machine (server) and even ssh to the nodes. But when i run a libname from SAS EG, i am getting this:   libname zhdplib hadoop subprotocol='hive2' server='myserver' schema=myschema user='user123' pwd='test123';   ERROR: Unable to connect to the Hive server. ERROR: Error trying to establish connection. ERROR: Error in the LIBNAME statement.     thanks,  Alex ... View more

Hi, gone through the config guides and a couple of articles by Stuart Rogers on SAS and Hadoop...not entirely sure/clear if Kerberos is required on the SAS (Client) server...obviously it's a must on the Hadoop cluster. Anyone, can share some insight. TIA ... View more

Hi thanks for the link, it gives me the correlation between user vs memory (ram, i am assuming). What would be the correlation between Disk space (or RAM) vs table size. For example, in the doc, why only 16 gb is available when 256 RAM is available? I am guessing a lot of overhead for VA, so what's the formula for sizing? Thanks in advance, Alex ... View more

Hi, I don't and am fairly new to the board. The goal is really to get some insights on how the community is using VA and on what real hardware specs. I think these insights would be useful not only to the community users who are getting ready to deploy VA, but to SAS as well. So, any reco on how to effectively discover these insights from the community, I am all for it. Thanks again, A ... View more
