But, basically, the first link should be able to help you with the configuration of your firewall, so you can keep your firewall on. Just an addition: apart from SAS indications - I believe it would fit in your case -, if we speak about network issues, Process Monitor and network analysis tools always help on the right way (tools commonly used by system and network administrators).
