Good morning. I've inherited code from long ago that suddenly has stopped running. I can't seem to figure out what's happened here. The issue, as noted in the log is "The meaning of an identifier after a quoted string might change in a future SAS release. Inserting white space between a quoted string and the succeeding identifier is recommended." However, this doesn't appear to be the only error. I'm not good with macros so I can't seem to figure this one out. One thing I had thought of, based on other posts, was the format of the data in &report_date_txt. This date is 03/2002 and so has a special character. As I said, I'm not good with macros so I don't really understand what's potentially happening here. Can anyone offer some suggestions? I believe the first section is from the compiler and the second is from the actual run. Thank you very much.

The other response got me closest to what I need. The other solution was to combine the date and the time but the customer wants each separate. I should have specified that in the ask, sorry. Thank you so much for taking the time to help me.

Good evening. I wonder if someone could help me? I have data such as "have" from the attachment. I'd like data such as "want" in the attached data. Basically I need to alternate the create date and time columns out for however many (max) based on the records I have. I'm hoping someone out there has run into something similar or who just may know the right approach I need to take. Thanks so much for anyone's help.

Good afternoon. I have two variables var1 and var2. Var1 may or may not be contained in var2. If var1 is contained in var2 I need to remove it and then concatenate it back to var2 with a hyphen between them. Alternatively, I could find var1 within var2 and place a hyphen between them. However, if var1 doesn't exist within var2 I'd still need to concatenate them with an intervening hyphen between them. Example: VAR1 VAR2 WANT DSU DS-12B DSU-12B MHUB B214B MHUB-214B 6 6-20A 6-20A C3-J 3J10B C3-J10B 01 1-29B 1-29B MHI MHI18 MHI-18 I would really appreciate any help someone out there might be able to give me.

Good afternoon. Thanks to anyone who can lend a hand. I have a large data set that I need to characterize for a user. In digging through EG I found an option I've never used before. Under Describe is an option for Characterize Data. This is almost exactly what I need. However, I cannot seem to output the results (tables and charts) to an MS Office format, either Excel or Word. I do have a Send To option but I receive an error message stating: "Unable to send SAS Report Characterize Data to Microsoft Excel. A compatible version of the SAS Add-In for Microsoft Office is either not installed or not enabled for Microsoft Excel." Does anyone have a workaround for this? I can simply copy and paste but that creates multiple tables when what I really need is an Excel version of all the tables and charts so the user can manipulate them. Is there a way to accomplish this and have the data moved into a SAS dataset perhaps?

Thanks to all who've taken the time to reply. We have several source library members that are called from within hundreds of code jobs. In essence what we are looking to do is to determine how many times a particular source library member is called over all current code. An inventory of use for members within the library. I can clean up the temporary datasets that are created from each bit of code or I can figure out a way to pull anything with XXX.XXX since we don't generally preface our temporary datasets with anything like WORK. in the call. This is a tough problem especially given I'm a bit new to this. I'm really glad there are people out there who are willing to try to help. Thank you.

Good morning. Thanks for all of the involvement on this from you all. Most (if not all) of the code is pretty straight-forward. (SQL) "from XX" or "set XXX". No macros, etc.

Good afternoon. I have a folder with a lot of individual SAS code files. I also have multiple libraries with hundreds of tables. What I need to do is to somehow query each individual SAS code file and determine which SAS tables each code file references. Each code file will have multiple referenced tables I'll need to go through each code file to compile an inventory of accessed tables. If possible I'd love to be able to have the code step through all code members in the folder one after the other. So in the code I have something similar to the following: PROC SQL; ... FROM XXSOURCE.TABLENAME ... QUIT; or DATA WANT; SET XXSOURCE.TABLENAME; ... RUN; I need to find everything after XXSOURCE. in order to create an inventory of accessed tables for each code file. I've never heard of a way to do this before. Does anyone have a suggestion? Thanks for your help.
