All the new youtube videos seem to be in v8, very little official info on the next v7 release (7.4) yet  but I have heard they should be equivallent in terms of functionality. 7.4 does seem to have some potentially interesting new functionality from the list I have seen though. Seems like a bit of a misstep from SAS to me, very confusing for customers, we are new to VA and just implimenting 7.3,  starting to think we should hold back.   Really wish SAS had a clear short/medium term roadmap for their products so we can plan effectively, their communications are not great, finding out about changes from youtube is not good enough though. ... You might be able to do this using a calculated column that compares the transaction date to the two date parameters and produces a yes or no outcome which you could then filter on.   Theres a useful post here on how to use dates as parameters (its not out of the box functionality)       ... This is a pretty big hole in the VA functionality, in my experience the majority of institutions use a non calendar year i.e. Academic or financial.   After struggling with this for a while I discovered there is a work around though its a bit of a fiddle.   You basically need to use the parallel period function to calculate the totals for all the previous periods (in my case I go back 2 years so have an aggregated measure for each of them)   I have aggreagated measures called:   current year previous year previous year2   You can then add them together, although be careful because VA doesnt seem to like them if they are blank so I used the following to create a final aggregated measure called total   IF ( 'Previous_Year2'n Missing ) RETURN ( IF ( 'Previous_Year'n Missing ) RETURN 'Current year'n ELSE ( 'Previous_Year'n + 'Current year'n ) ) ELSE ( 'Previous_Year2'n + 'Previous_Year'n + 'Current year'n ) To prove it works, my outputs look like (notice the line carries over though Jan)     ... Doesn't the crosstab object give you what you need?   You may need to normalise (unpivot) your data first so that the numeric values are all in the same column with an additional column to identify to get the layout you describe though.   ... View more
