@Reeza This code works but I wanted to see all other variables so excluded the "var" statement so that sas can include all variables in the dataset. However, sas included all the variable except "comment". Why is that? Is it because am using "by comment"? How could I have comment and all other variables in the dataset. I don't want to use keep statement because I have a lot of variables.

Hi, I have a dataset with comments similar to the dataset below. I would like to output each comments and its duplicates into different sheet in excel. How do I find the duplicate, after sorting without deleting duplicate and outputting them to each excel sheet? Hi, I have a long comment variable and I will like to separate any duplicates comment from non-duplicate comments. I just don't want to use first.comment because some comment are the same at the initial sentences but later are different.( That is the entire sentence case is not the same). I have provided a sample data. Can I use proc sql if yes please provide a sample code. @Tom Thank you, your code works. So if I now want to add the third dataset a17: data a17; input bene_id$ A B C D; datalines; A1 . . 09 . A2 . 5 . . A8 09 . . 12 A9 . . . 13 ;run; I DID data total; set want a17; by bene_id; if last.bene_id; run; How will l do it. I tried creating a new data set with data WANT and a17 using the code you provided and follow the same logic but D10 was missing. That means SAS was reading the last ID for A1 from a17 and ignore WANT because of the first.bene_id. I want my expected results to be data expect; input bene_id $ A B C D; datalines; A1 . . 09 10 A2 . . . 12 A3 14 . . . A4 09 . . 12 A5 . . . 13 A8 09 . . 12 A9 . . . 13 ; run;

@Reeza Could you show me a code as an example. I still did not understand. I want all the data from a19 but only those that are not in a19 from a18 should only join to a19, to make a new dataset. Do you mean: Data dummy; drop a18; Merge a19(in=x) a18 (IN=Y); by bene_id; If (x=1 or y=1); run;

I will like to merge a two data set. Data19 contain everyone i wanted. Data18 contains some people in data19 and some who are not in data19. I want to merge the data so I can get all variables in data19 plus only the people in data18 who are not in data19. Hi, I have two data set I will like to merge. Data one have two ID i will like to use to merge but only one of the ID is in Data two. I would like to merge data two to Data one. Hi, This may sound simple but I need help. I concatenate 2 dataset and the observations output seems fine. Data 1 have 12316611 obs and187 columns Data 2 have 12316611 obs and 86 columns When I concatenate I got Total rows: 24633222 Total columns: 268 but I expected 273 column. Why is the number of variables is reduced. Could this be related to variables having different attributes. How do I resolve the issue. Thanks

Hi, I found this code online and tried to replicate it but I keep getting an error. The code is used to create an header on each excel file. The error said the physical path does not exist but I am not sure of the path shown. Can someone direct me on how to make this works pls. I could like to mark the 3656 as Q6_dup =1 and 3455 as Q6_dup =0. Yes, text is generated as the result of selecting an option in the survey I am still learning sas and not sure how to approach this using the custom informats. Please could you or anyone help me with a sample code and explanation using the example above.

Hello, I have a variable called Q6 in sas dataset. It is a survey questionnaire. I will like to check if there are duplicates in the sentences in Q6. If there are duplicates I will like to create a new variable called Q6_dup =1 or Q6_dup =0. I don't know how to use (if first.var) because sentences may start with the same word but may not continue to be the same.

@Reeza Is there a quick way to include quotes in all the numbers without manually doing it one after the other. I have a-lot of zip-codes and its time consuming. Thanks
