Hi SAS Masters,   I have two dataset. Have1 has 293 observations and Have2 has 246 observations. Both of them only have one variable called "base". I am wondering how many of them are shown in both datasets. I have sorted these two datasets by base. The code I used is below.   data common; merge have1(in=h1) have2(in=h2); by base; if h1 and h2 then output common; run; however, the number of observations in "Common" is 258, which is more than the number of observations in Have2 (258 > 246). Hi SAS Master,   I have a dataset with three variables, including firmID, year, and ProductID. I would like to finish two tasks.   1. remove duplicate product within 3 years for each firm so that a product is only shown once within 3 years for a specific firm. (A product can be shown in several different firms. It can also be shown several times in a specific firm as long as the time lag is longer than 3 years. Hi SAS experts!   I have a dataset as below.   FirmID                 Name 10001           Smith, Bob Alpha 10001           Smith, Bob A. 10002           Bloomberg, Jack Beta 10002           Bloomberg, Jack B.   The first two names are actually for the same person and the last two names are also for the same person. The logic is if one name (like Bloomgerg, Jack B.) is contained in the full name (like Bloomberg, Jack Beta) in the same company, then delete the short name and keep the completed name.
