Hi Cynthia, The one i am trying to do is not possible in proc report i think.I tried different ways but it didn't work out.I think it is a big limitation in proc report. If you have any solution how to print the summary totals in last page while using dummy variable to force page break

Hey Cynthia, If i want to print the summarized totals at the end of report for the three variables DEFINE TOTC / ANALYSIS STYLE={WIDTH=9% JUST = R}; DEFINEGENC / ANALYSIS STYLE={WIDTH=11% JUST = R}; DEFINE GENPCT / DISPLAY STYLE={WIDTH=9% JUST = R}; DEFINE GENPCT / COMPUTED FORMAT=PERCENT9.2 STYLE={WIDTH=9% JUST = R }; i want to print the summarized totals in the last page.When i am using dummy page variable to break the summarized totals are printing at the end of each page.How to avoid it and print it in the last page. Can you please let me know

Hi Cynthia, Yes you are right.It is not count of observations sorry about that.It contains value of 1 on first page and value of 2 on second page.I think in my case title will not work as you see in my code i have to print them in certain positions.Can i print title statement in the desired positions i want. If you have an example can you please post it. I appreciate your support.

In the below code my dummy variable is BRK.It contains count of observations.When the count is 25 it will break the Page.I am using it to print page number also.I highlighted the dummy variable in BOLD. Hi Cynthia, i cannot use title as it will not print it where i want them. Proc report has a lot of limitations. One more question In my report i want to print county totals in the last page.I am using a dummy variable to force page break. It is printing the county totals for each page. Can you pleasr let me know how to avoid it.

Hi, I am using Proc report and in my data set there are no page break variables.I am using the below code. After it is going from first page to second page number is not changing. If i use a variable to create a page break then the All counties is printing after every page.All counties is a summarized value and it should print in the last page. Hi Cynthia, My main intention was to calCulate the sum in proc tabulate instead of using PROC SQL. The calculations i want are 1)Total sum for each county 2)total sum for each county there whith an indicator 'G' 3)perecentage of county with g in the total sum for each county 4)total sums for each state 5)total sums for each state with an indciator g. 6)total percentage for state. I am using Proc Sql for calculations. when i use PROC SQL it takes some steps for calculations as i have to use different groups. So i am thinking of a method where i can do the calculations in less number of steps. if you have any questions let me know.

Hi, I have a scenario i want to do grouping in two different ways and get the result in one table. PROC TABULATE DATA=TEST OUT = TOTAL ( WHERE=(TOTAL_SUM NE .) RENAME=(AMT_SUM=TOTAL_SUM) DROP=_TABLE_ _PAGE_ _TYPE_ ); CLASS STATE CITY COUNTY ; VAR AMT; TABLE STATE * (CITY ALL) , AMT *SUM /printmiss; TABLE STATE * (CITY * COUNTY ALL) , AMT *SUM /printmiss; RUN; In the result table Total what i want to have is grouping the amount on STATE and CITY and Later on STATE ,CITY and COUNTY.but i am not getting the right result. Can you let me know wether any changes to the approach

Hi, I am curious to know about Left joins.At present we have less data so we are not facing any perofrmance problems.Later in the furture if we have huge data then will we have performance problems with Left Join.if we have performance problems instead of changing them to hashing is there any way we can optimize the left joins. I will reiterate my question .If we have performance problems with Left joins then is there any way to optimize it with out changing the codes to hashing. I appreciate your patience and support.

Hi, I am having a situation where i want the page numbers in comma format like 1,234 but when i am using ~{THISPAGE} in ODS PDF it is creating the page number but with out comma like 1234. Is there any way to make it work like that For example: my page should look like PAGE:1,234 instead of PAGE:1234. i am using Proc Report and Data _NULL_. Previously i was creating a Variable in the data set and used format on that but it is creating some problems.My variable is not printing fine in DATA _NULL_ when i am using LinesLeft=Lines F0r example: DATA _NULL_; SET TEST; PAGESIZE=60 LINESLEFT=LINES LINESIZE=157; When I am using LinesLeft=Lines i have to use ~{THISPAGE} For Page Numbers instead of the variable i created.
