sorry i should have been more specific i have company names as well for this. so basically datadate 20040101 20040102 and so on until 20131231. for companies a to z. i want to keep the last date of each year for each company. how may i tackle this issue? thank you in advance.

i have datadate 20040101 20040102 and so on until 20131231. I basically wan to keep rows with the last date of the year, for each year there are some caveats: some years last day with the data might be 20131229 for example not 20131231. i wan to end up with 20041231 20051231 20061231 and so on and if 31st is not observable the latest date possible of that year.

for some strange reason it is not working. there are ticker with 60001 60002 1 2 260 2600 i just want to drop the ones that start with 60 and still keep the ones with 260 and 2600.

I want to export my sas data to excel. proc export data=boardex.ticker dbms=xlsx outfile="c:\boardex\ticker.xlsx" replace; run; when I do this, I get an error message saying: ERROR: XLSX is not yet supported by proc export If I do replace XLSX with XLS, I get an error when I open the excel file. Please let me know of your guidance. Thank you.

i have ran a code: data us99; set us13; annualreportdate=tranwrd(annualreportdate,'Dec',''); run; for some strange reason, after i get rid of Dec, I get a space between my year ie: (space)2013 how can i remove that space so that the ones that i removed Dec aligns with other year observations? thank you!

hi, thank you in advance for your kind attention. i have 2 variables: COMPANYID and YEAR COMPANYID is between 1-100. YEAR can be anywhere between 1950-2013 I want to keep the COMPANYIDs that have more than 10 years within them. for example: companyID 1 may have year 1950, 1951 only. i want to drop companyID 1 completely because i only see 2 years and my threshold is 10. Can you provide me your guidance? thank you!

i have a column called annualreportdate that column has observations such as dec2012, dec 2010, dec 2011, current 1.) how do i delete all the rows with current? 1.1) instead of deleting, how do i replace those with 2013? 2) i also want to remove all the dec from dec 2012, dec 2010....and so on. plz help!
