I want to export my sas data to excel.

proc export

  data=boardex.ticker

  dbms=xlsx

  outfile="c:\boardex\ticker.xlsx"

  replace;

run;

when I do this, I get an error message saying:

ERROR: XLSX is not yet supported by proc export

If I do replace XLSX with XLS, I get an error when I open the excel file.

Please let me know of your guidance.

Thank you.

This is a tricky one, because there are so many set ups for SAS depending on SAS version (9.1/9.2/9.3), SAS bit (32/64), OS version (Windows XP, 7, 8, Unix), Excel version/bitness. Your best bet is to use the point and click export (File>Export) and save the code in a program, an option in one of the point and click windows.
