This is a dataset with 8 million records and I am trying to understand if this code is fine or if there is another way of achieving it (creating a max timestamp in a previous step and using a where clause) because it is taking ages to execute this (2 hours) and I wanted to check if it can be made to run quicker. proc sql; create table xyz as select * from abc group by aa_id,ab_id having date_timestamp = max(date_timestamp); quit; Thank you.

@AndrewHowell I tried to run it under "Stored Process Server only" as suggested but I get this error when I try to execute : ERROR: Failed to load analytic extension for the distributed computing environment. There are two datasets which have to be loaded in memory in the same program. Do you think that could be the reason because out of the two the second one is loaded into memory without error but the first one is throwing the error. Anything that should be checked? @manishiiita I had to create a stored process in SAS Enterprise guide but the user selects the prompts in SAS Visual Analytics which then gets executed in the backend in SAS EG and the dataset which is a source for the report gets refreshed and the user can see updated data. Because in SAS VA 7.4 we can only execute the stored process in an external tab, the dataset refresh is inevitable. The user prompt selection is what that needs to be used in the report as a dynamic text. Hope it cleared the original post.

Hi Team, Is there a way to display a user selected date (by a prompt which is not in the dataset) from a stored process in Enterprise Guide in the report using a dynamic text or any other way? The photos are pasted below to help you understand the situation better. Hope it helps. Thanks. Example: If a user selects "Nov 05" from the list, I want the date to be passed into the report and displayed around the yellow highlighted area.

Why did SAS chose to remove Enterprise Guide in SAS Viya architecture and why the push to use SAS Studio when SAS Enterprise Guide is been there long and has better interface than SAS Studio?

I have created the Stored Process in SAS EG and executed it from VA. It worked fine for me as it is created by me but when someone else tried to access the stored process from SAS VA Viewer, they were not able to execute the stored proc because SAS EG needs my(developer) credentials. Is there a workaround this issue?

@AndrewHowell is it not possible for other users to execute the stored process if they don't have SAS EG access?

Hi guys, Note: I am on v7.4. Is it possible for VA to access and run a program by itself with dynamic values (user input) as macro variables. If a user enters the from and to dates, the macro variables in my code can automatically run the code for the dates entered ? or any such instances where user input can access the macro variables dynamically and change the value and execute the program? hi Fred, So I have a column which calculates ratio/percentages and if I group it by a variable SAS just sums up all the values instead of displaying the values I feed in. I may not be articulating this well, your solution works well but it displays all the values in the category variable. I can create a ds in the backend to feed in values but can't have any report filters as the default aggregation SAS uses is "sum" for all the measures by default. Regards, Rama

Hi Team, Is it possible to just display the values in a dataset without doing any kind of aggregation in a crosstab or a list table? As my variable is a combination of numbers and ratio/percentatges I just want to display values as they are and no aggregation? The problem is with adding category variables to the report where it aggregates values by itself, instead of showing what they are. There is no problem with numbers as it is obviously a sum but the issue arises when I have to show ratios and percentages in the same column. Business Requirement- Tried to explain to keep them separate, basically trying to meet excel expectations here. Regards, Rama.

Hi Guys, Is it possible to create a sas program file (initially without any code) in a given folder (library)? Note: I am not asking about creating a dataset, I need to create a blank sas program file during run time. Like invoking a macro should automatically create a filename.sas program in a folder.
