You don't need ods trace on to run, unless you need it for some other reason. I'm guessing thats what's filling your log. Google proc printto to see how to redirect your log to a file. Try the following though, it should create the dataset with minimal output. ods select none; proc univariate winsorized = 0.10 data=mydata; class classvar; var ; ods output winsorizedmeans=means (keep= classvar mean rename=mean=winsorized_mean) ; run ;

Use a format in your call define. Check this paper out: http://support.sas.com/resources/papers/proceedings10/153-2010.pdf Vince provides an example using proc report and proc print. The proc report example is almost identical to what you're doing.

You never specified what your sample sizes are for each group. If your dealing with smaller numbers then having a large group (group2+3) vs group 1 will always give you a better fit because you're using more data. Just something to keep in mind.

What type of comparison are you looking to do? The group 1 vs group 2+3 compares the lower level to higher levels, while group 1+2 vs group 3 does the same, lower to higher. If you're not interested in doing those types of comparisons then run the nominal. To me its a question of what's your question and interest. And if you're doing nominal do you want a comparison of group 1 to group 2? Or is that not of interest? The results should be different, you're answering different questions in each one. My 2 cents

Sorry, I didn't look fully at the code.Your best bet is talking to the person who created it. It looks like she created a unique tagset implementation, not a CSS style otherwise you could state cssstyle=..

This isn't the best way to do this, but would probably work. Go to SAS EG Style Editor and pick any style and create a copy, name that copy AMODefault or what you want it to be called. Note where you're instance of SAS is saving the file to. Navigate to that location and replace the code in that copy with the CSS code you have. Let me know if it works.

Use double quotation marks, not single, macro variables will not resolve inside single quotation marks.

I'm not sure exactly what your rules are, seeing an example may help. Guessing that if all questions values are 4 and none are missing then you could use the following logic: max(of question1-question20)=min(of question1-question20) and nmiss(of question1-question20)=0 then ... if your variables are character then you can try the cmiss function instead. You're trying to change the variable TYPE from CHAR to NUMERIC. I'm also guessing that your Issue_DT and Maturity are date time fields not date based on the length of 21. The ideal solution is to fix this when you initially get the data and make sure it imports/downloads/reads properly. To change it at this point you need to give an example of how it looks it the field, is it 03Aug2011 or or 03/08/11 9:54:00.0 ... or something of the sort.

Look up the option yearcutoff The default is 1920 which you need to change for your dates.
