Hi, I have setup SAS Token Authentication on my workspace server. I can't find it in the SAS documentation but it looks like the launch credential must be a metadata group's account. when i set it to a metadata user's account, i get the message: The application could not log on to the server "sasserver01:8591". The user ID "sasadm@!*(generatedpassworddomain)*!" or the password is incorrect. Can someone confirm this? regards, Bart

Hi, I have SAS/ACCESS to PostgreSQL licensed. I want to use PostgreSQL as a data store for my ETL jobstats. I want this data store to reside on my compute server. SAS provides a bundled instance of PostgreSQL, which it uses for the WIP database on that same compute tier. I would like to hear opinions on whether to use the SAS-provided PostgreSQL instance for storing my own ETL jobstats data. Or do you find I should install a separate instance of PostgreSQL for this data? Thanks, Bart

Hi, I don't see a VA Reports portlet or something like that in the SAS BI Portal. Are there any best practices out there on how to integrate SAS VA reports in a SAS BI Portal? A complicating factor in my case may be that VA lives on another metadata server than the SAS BI Portal. thanks, Bart H

hi, i tried to add a link to VA 7.1 (http://myserver/SASVisualAnalyticsHub/) to a SAS Information Delivery Portal 9.2 collection portlet. clicking it results in a blank page. how can i do this? thanks, Bart H

Hi, At SASGF15 I learned that SAS Studio tasks can be integrated in EG. To try it out I created an environment that has the prerequisites installed: - EG 7.1 - IE 11 (must be 10 or higher) - SAS Studio but I don't see the SAS Studio tasks in EG. Are there additional steps I need to perform to get this working? Bart

If your goal is to use the data in VA and you have separate metadata environments, probably easier writing the data to a location that can be accessed by both environments, then using the VA tools to load the data. that is indeed my goal, so that renders the EG task "Upload to LASR" useless.

if you choose to maintain separate metadata environments, you are defeating the integration that task provides. it looks like i don't really have a choice, since SAS Institute advises against it. You might be able to define a LASR library in the BI metadata environment, then use the Upload to LASR task to upload to that library. The data would get loaded into LASR, but the table would not be registered in the VA metadata environment, thus couldn't be automatically used in VA. i don't completely understand your idea, can you elaborate on this?

Hi, EG71 provides an Upload to LASR task. Prerequisite for this is that the LASR server is configured in the same metadata environment as EG. However, Dutch SAS TLM consultants advice against integrating VA in a SAS BI metadata environment, they advice to install VA with its own metadata environment. I validated this with developers at SASGF15 and they say the same. Does this render the Upload to LASR task useless? Bart Heinsius
