Hello, In my case, for a certain planning task SAS/OR seems to compete with SAP because SAS obviously has neat analytical capabilities. SAP on the other hand, is intended for large data volumes and "deals with messy data itself, will always give a result, processing time will be competitive, etc., etc.". The data in question is large - and I even don't yet know how large. Gambling is not my favorite option, if we go for SAS, it shouldn't be a mistake. In spite of being a SAS fan, carrying out a google search on "proc bom" and getting "forecast aggregation" in third and fourth place as most relevant topics really gives me the creeps. a) How can I tell in advance that my planned bill-of-materials calculation will not break down - due to lack of memory? b) Has anybody real life experience with proc bom doing bill-of-materials explosion - using it for materials and not forecast aggregation?
