Hi, During the proc import I asked for gatnames = no because I had to work on the file first. Now in a data step I would like to transform the table and to do it. Something like: data Table2; set Table1; getnames = yes; run; How can I do it easily? Thank you for your help

Hi, I would like to use a function which returns a string as a part of another string, without declaring it before. That's very easy but I don't know It's during an import from Excel: sheet = "sheet_substrn(&datee.,max(1,length(&datee.)-3),4)" It doesn't understand it need to replace the function with the value. Sorry if it was not clear. What I mean is when you make a process flow in SAS Enterprise Guide you write every step with a Query Builder or a Programm. Each time the step outputs a SAS Table or transform something. On SAS EG interface you visually see the output created with an arrow between the programm/query builder and the created table. If you don't physically remove the table or you don't click on SAS EG interface to remove it, the table will stay visible. In my case I will have a lot of table to output, and it will become unreadable on the interface. So I would like to avoid that the interface show the output tables. Is that more clear?

Hi all, I am saving tables at the end of the program, with the current time. That means that every time I will run it, new tables will be created at this final step (except if it is the same second than the previous run, which is technically not possible ^^...) So I want to avoid showing the created tables at this step, because else it will become unreadable. Do you know how to do it? Thanks

Hi, I'm trying to save my SAS Table and first I want to rename it with the datestamp. This is my code: PROC FORMAT; PICTURE datestamp(default=15)other='%Y%0m%0d%0H%0M%0S' (datatype=datetime); RUN; data FILENAME_%sysfunc(datetime(),datestamp); set FILENAME; RUN; proc copy inlib=work outlib=output ; select FILENAME_%sysfunc(datetime(),datestamp); run; But it's not working because before the datestamp I have a blank...Something like "FILENAME_ 20170110163415" And I don't understand why. Do you know? Thanks

Thanks for both of you. I can accept only one topic as a solution, but you both helped me... for the first question. For the second: I try to do something like that: PROC SQL; CREATE TABLE A (DA_IN char(6)); INSERT INTO A values (&dated_ym.); QUIT; RUN; And I got this. Value 1 of VALUES clause 1 does not match the data type of the corresponding column in the object-item list (in the SELECT clause).

Hi, I am using SA Enterprise Guide and I have a user choice date in parameter which I called "dated", and is from this type: "06/01/2017". I created three macro variable following this: %let dated_year = %sysfunc(year("&dated."d)); %let dated_month = %sysfunc(month("&dated."d)); %let dated_ym = %sysfunc(cats(&dated_year, &dated_month)); First question: when i put dated_year is correct: "2017". But when I put dated_month, it's written "1" instead of "01"...it's not very important for dated_month but more problematic for dated_ym which is "20171" instead of "201701". Do you know how I should do? Second question: I want to format these three macro variable in character, but I don't know how to do it. Do you have an idea? Thanks

Hi, I have a table. I try to remove all possible accents from this table by doing something like: PROC SQL; CREATE TABLE WORK.B AS compress( WORK.A, "éèêëâäàåáïîìíçôöòóûùúü,.-'" ,"eeeeaaaaaiiiicoooouuuu "); QUIT; RUN; But it's not working. It want a select and I don't know how to do it.... Have you an idea? Thanks

Hi all, I'm trying to import some specific type of Excel file into SAS 9.4. Specific because nothing is done very easily and I can't ask the provider of the file to change it 😕 Let say that my Excel file has a number of column equals to "columnnumber", and number of rows equals to "rownumber" What I know: - columnnumber can change from one file to each other, but always > 10 - rownumber can change from one file to each other - the data fields name are on row 2, from column 2 to 10. - the data I need to import is just below the data fields name (so it begins on row 3, from column 2 to 10) - the data ending row can change and there can be a lot of false rows at the end of the excel file with nonsense things written or blanks.... The only thing I know: I need to stop recording on the first blank cell on column 2. Do you know how I can do it? Thanks

Hi all, I am new here, and very newbie on SAS, so forgive me by advance for the easy question I will ask. I have a table with several rows and several data such as - a text named "TE1" - three amounts named "AM1", "AM2", "AM3" For each row, there is at least one of the three amounts not null, but for some rows two of them can be not null of even all three of them can be not null. What I want to do is to create a new table with a program duplicating every row where at least two of the three amounts are not null, in order to have only one amount not null Exemple of table TE1 AM1 AM2 AM3 AZZ 12 0 1 ABB 15 0 0 AFD 12 8 5 I want to have in my new table TE1 AM1 AM2 AM3 AZZ 12 0 0 AZZ 0 0 1 ABB 15 0 0 AFD 12 0 0 AFD 0 8 0 AFD 0 0 5 Tell me if it is not enough clear. I have truly no ideas of how to do it. Can you help me? Thanks
